Witchcraft: SALEM, MASSACHUSETTS
4th August 2007: Daytrip to Salem, Massachusetts.
Salem is known as a place for witch huntings. Therefore they have two museums about that. First we went to the "Witch Dungeon Museum". The tour started with a play about a witch trial. After that we went into the dungeons in the basement. There you could see the inhuman ways in which the so called "witches" were imprisoned. About 20 people (most women) were killed in different ways for practicing witchcraft. Some were hung.
After that we went to the "Salem Witch Museum", where the history of witchcraft in Salem was shown in different scenes. A speaker told the story and the scenes were illuminated in the process.
